Don Giovanni, 2016, James Dawe

First performed in 1787, Mozart’s exhilarating retelling of the Don Juan legend is a dazzling combination of the comic and tragic filled with some of his most famous and much-loved music. To open the season in 2016, award-winning director Richard Jones brought his unique directorial imagination to this new production. Mark Wigglesworth conducted Mozart's glorious sequence of arias, duets and ensembles, which includes the famous ‘Catalogue’ aria detailing Giovanni’s long list of lovers.
