Donizetti's romantic drama is an example of the bel canto school of 19th-century Italian opera. Based on Scottish novelist Walter Scott's The Bride of Lammermoor, the opera traces rival families, thwarted love and unhealthy obsessions in a powerful tale of an innocent woman manipulated by the men in her life. David Alden's powerful production returned to ENO for its second revival in 2018 and was conducted by Stuart Stratford, Music Director of Scottish Opera.

The prints are produced using the giclée method, which refers to an inkjet printing process, using light fast water based pigment inks. All frames are hand-made and hand-finished by skilled craftsmen. They use high quality, museum-standard acrylic glazing on all frames offering 92% clarity and 90% UV protection.
